The problem
A statement entrance fails quickly when the details are wrong.
Oversized doors put more pressure on the hinges, frame, threshold, and lock. If the opening is out of square, the pivot is underspecified, or the door is sealed badly, the result is a front door that scrapes, rattles, leaks, or never lines up properly. A pivot door should feel solid and effortless, not like a showpiece that becomes difficult to live with.
